THE THINGS WE ENJOYED

The park is a brand new installation (opened in the past month as of our visit).  It is a great compliment to the nearby amenities, such as the museum, archives and the Aboyne library.  While the overall structure is simple, it’s certainly enough to keep younger kids entertained while parents take a load off and enjoy a little snack or picnic lunch.  You can find shade if you need it, and washrooms are close enough to not have to worry.

THE THINGS WE MISSED

It’s hard to judge against this park, as it doesn’t proclaim to be anything more than it is – a great little addition to the surrounding area.  Is it an epic park that gets a 5-star rating?  Maybe not; and I wouldn’t necessarily pack up the kids and make a special trip JUST for the park, but if you’re already spending an afternoon at the library or museum, then this play area is a perfect compliment to that.
